Terms of Cancellation and Potential Additional Costs
Terms of Cancellation and Formation of the Agreement
By placing an order on the helsinginliikennekoulu.fi website, the student and any other designated payer accept the terms of the order, including the payment obligation, cancellation policies, and contractual terms. The contractual relationship is considered to have entered into force between Helsingin liikennekoulu Oy and the subscriber/payer upon the issuance of the order confirmation. The agreement is valid for one (1) year, unless a longer validity period is expressly agreed upon by both parties.
Statutory 14-Day Right of Withdrawal Without Costs:
- Begins upon the receipt of the order confirmation in the recipient's email.
- Applies to training packages leading to a driving license or a driving test, provided that the performance of the service or instruction has not yet commenced.
- Expires immediately once the student begins using the ordered service (for example, by logging into a digital learning environment, starting theory test practice, or participating in the first driving lesson).
- Does not apply to training courses or course modules consisting solely of theory lessons (such as the theory lessons for the EAS or RTK training) once the course instructions and access to the virtual classroom have been delivered to the student. These instructions are delivered automatically via email immediately upon registration, meaning that the performance of the service is considered to have commenced instantly. By registering for the course, the student explicitly requests and consents to the immediate commencement of the service and the provision of the instruction/learning materials prior to the expiry of the statutory withdrawal period.
Upon Expiry of the Right of Withdrawal or Termination of the Agreement:
If the student cancels the order after the 14-day withdrawal period, after the right of withdrawal has already expired, or terminates their studies before the end of the contractual term, the student is obligated to pay the standard cancellation/termination fee (€65), as well as the charges for the course modules already delivered and instruction provided in accordance with the valid price list. If the total price of the purchased service is less than the standard termination fee, the termination fee shall be equal to the full price of the service.
Additional Costs That May Arise During the Contractual Period
Uncancelled or Too Late Cancelled Driving Lessons
- If you need to cancel a driving lesson, it must be done at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled time.
- Lessons cancelled later than this or left unused will be subject to a cancellation fee: €40 per driving simulator lesson and €80 per driving lesson with an instructor.
- For an uncancelled or too late cancelled RTK training track day (a package of three driving lessons), a fee of €190 will be charged.
Cancellation Terms in Case of Illness:
If you fall ill, please notify the driving school as soon as possible and cancel your bookings immediately, no later than 8 hours before the scheduled time via text message or WhatsApp. It is highly recommended to cancel by the previous evening if you feel you are becoming unwell.
- For uncancelled driving lessons, the full cancellation fee according to the price list will be charged.
- For cancellations made less than 8 hours before the driving lesson, 50% of the cancellation fee will be charged.
- In cases of illness, no fee will be charged for the booked lessons, provided that the lesson is cancelled at least 8 hours prior to the scheduled time AND the student submits an official medical certificate to the driving school within 14 days of the cancellation.
Cancellations of Handling and Driving Tests (Ajovarma Oy)
PLEASE NOTE! If you have a handling or driving test scheduled for the same day, it must be cancelled no later than the previous working day within the opening hours of the driving school office!
- Ajovarma Oy charges 50% of the price of a late-cancelled driving or handling test, and a new test booking cannot be made until this outstanding fee has been paid.
- Upon entering into the training agreement, you authorize the driving school to book Ajovarma examinations on your behalf. You will receive Ajovarma’s official booking confirmation in your email, and the time of the driving test will also be confirmed to you by the driving school.
Other Fees Not Included in the Packages
Course package prices do not include:
- Official regulatory fees to Ajovarma (such as driving license permit, theory test, and examination fees).
- Additional driving lessons, separate learning materials, and other services not included in the standard course curriculum.
- The use of the driving school vehicle for re-tests (re-take of driving test or re-take of handling test).
- Potential damage liability fees during the driving test, where the student acts as the responsible driver of the vehicle.

What is good to know about the conditions for canceling driving lessons?
- If you need to cancel a driving lesson, it must be done at least 24 hours before the agreed time.
- After this, a cancellation fee will be charged for canceled or unused driving lessons (in the simulator €40, driving lesson with a teacher €80)
- We charge €160 for an RTK training track day that cannot be canceled or is canceled too late (for a package of three driving hours).
Cancellation conditions in cases of illness:
- If you get sick, notify us as soon as possible and cancel the reservations immediately, however, by 10:00 the same morning at the latest.
- We charge a cancellation fee according to the price list for non-cancellable driving lessons, and 50% of the cancellation fee for those canceled after 10:00.
- In cases of illness, we do not invoice for the reserved times, if the driving lesson is canceled by 10:00 the same morning at the latest and the student submits a sick leave certificate to the driving school within 14 days of the cancellation.
NOTE! If there is a handling or driving test for the same day, it must be canceled no later than the previous weekday within the opening hours of the driving school office! Ajovarma Oy charges 50% of the price of a late canceled driving or handling test, and a new test booking cannot be made until the non-cancellable fee has been paid.
